This In Home Maternity photo shoot was so freaking BEAUTIFUL!! One thing about me is I LOVE in-home sessions. They are intimate, comfortable and just so real. Like this is real life! You invited me into your home to capture those intimate moments you share with your family.
This was the THIRD time I worked with this family. The first time was for their engagement photos at The Morton Arboretum and then their backyard wedding this past summer. When I got invited back to their home for this maternity shoot I was so excited and honored. To be able to develop such a close relationship with my clients is so special to me.
To start the session I found the perfect soft light in the dining room and did some solo portraits. I feel like this helps everyone get comfortable with the camera being out and gets some really good photos of the belly.
When we planned this session we had talked about which direction we wanted the session to go and they wanted it to be a mix of a few posed family photos and then candids just loving on the baby bump. We used the kitchen as a backdrop and then took the session outside. YES, outside in the winter. It was cold but so worth it! The photos are nostalgic and kind of make me feel like I found them in a 90’s photo album.
My absolute favorite part of this shoot was when we got to have fun in the kitchen. FLOUR HANDPRINTS! It was messy, but made for the most perfectly candid images and big sister had a blast! Even dad got messy! While we planned this session I had thrown this idea out there and I was so excited when they wanted to go along with it!
This in-home session will forever be my favorite! If I could do these in home sessions every day I would! Contact me here!
