Senior on a trail at Starved Rock

When Kara came to me for senior pictures she told me there were 2 Must Haves- they had to be done in the fall and at Starved Rock State Park. As a lover of the fall colors AND Starved Rock I said HECK YES! Let’s do it!

When a senior has a location in mind it gets me excited because that means they have a VISION and it is my job to make that vision come to life! As a senior photographer I really want to make sure I understand who you are and what you want out of the session. These are not your typical boring senior photos. These are your senior photos that capture the uniqueness of YOU!

Before a senior session I always scout the location to be prepared on shoot day. I want to make the most of our time together so preparation is key. For this particular session I did some research to see when peak fall colors would be and then we scheduled the shoot.

Kara wore a dress that worked so well with all of the fall colors. We were lucky it wasn’t too cold yet so she was actually quite comfortable during our Starved Rock hike.

Starved Rock is the perfect location because the scenery changes constantly so there are endless backdrops! Starved Rock has some of the most beautiful scenery I have ever seen in Illinois. I mean it doesn’t even look like we are in the midwest!

I am so proud of these photos. They capture Kara’s personality and she was totally in her element and it really helped her feel comfortable and have fun! Our session ended up being close to two hours long and it really allowed us to create a beautiful gallery that she will forever be able to look back on and remember her senior year- class of 2025!

I would love to hear your vision for your senior photos! Contact me here!
